Hello World
Here is the customary “Hello World” post.
I have been toying around with the idea of a blog for the longest time. It actually started when I was 14. I first created at website hosted on Geocities using Frontpage. Between then and now, I have also dabbled with building full fletch Django web app and hosted Wordpress. Long story short. None sticked. I either had too much fun in experimenting with building stuff or ran out of the ideas to blog about.
Then I came across Tiny Projects. I learnt that it’s better to start with building tiny project and minimise distraction. So I spent 4 hours to build a LLM power app Baby Name Generator. It felt empowering.
I went on to studied how to write my own blog. Jekyll on Github pages was the first solution that I came across. It felt so elegant. I went down the rabbit hole and discovered JAMstack. Played around with a few and went back to Jekyll. Spent the next 4 hours choosing a theme and getting it to work on Vercel.
Pleasantly surprised at the ease of deployment. Next up will be choosing a domain name since I have came a long way from my poor 14 years old day.
So what are the topics that I am going to blog about? For now, here’s my list:
- Feature Engineering
- Exploratory data analysis
- Evolution of Data Science
- What will happen in the future?
- How to build system that works?
- Characteristics of successful projects
